The Story of Poszáta Folklore & Crystal – Over 30 Years of Hungarian Craftsmanship

The story of Poszáta Folklore & Crystal began more than three decades ago with a simple mission: to share the authentic beauty of Hungarian culture, folk art, and traditional craftsmanship with visitors from around the world.

Today, Poszáta represents carefully selected Hungarian handicrafts, traditional gifts, porcelain, crystal, and folk art creations Budapest's most visited location: The Great Market Hall.

From a Student's Dream to a Family Business

The founder of Poszáta, Árpád Rády, began his journey in Budapest's tourism world while still a university student.

His first products were postcards and small souvenirs offered to international visitors at Heroes' Square.

From the very beginning, he understood that travelers were looking for more than simple souvenirs. They wanted meaningful objects that represented the culture, history, and spirit of Hungary.

Discovering Hungarian Folk Art

During his university years, the business grew rapidly and soon moved to the historic Buda Castle area with an expanded selection of products.

This period marked the beginning of a lifelong connection with Hungarian folk art and traditional craftsmanship.

Hand embroidery, Hungarian folk motifs, traditional textiles, porcelain, and crystal creations became central elements of the Poszáta collection.

Working Directly with Hungarian Artisans

Authentic craftsmanship can only be preserved through real connections.

For many years, Árpád Rády traveled across Hungary to discover skilled artisans, traditional workshops, and manufacturers who truly represent Hungarian heritage.

These relationships remain one of the most important foundations of Poszáta today.

From the Hősök Tere to Budapest's Famous Tourist Destination: The Great Market Hall

A major milestone came when Poszáta expanded into Budapest's Great Market Hall.

The company continued to grow, and over time became a true family business.

Together with his wife and children, Árpád Rády developed Poszáta into a brand representing Hungarian cultural heritage, supported by a dedicated team of nearly 40 employees.

Sharing Hungarian Heritage Worldwide

Today, visitors from all over the world discover Hungarian craftsmanship through Poszáta's collections.

International customers value authentic products, quality workmanship, and the personal attention that has always defined the company.

More Than a Gift – A Cultural Heritage

For Poszáta, Hungarian folk art is more than decoration or a souvenir.

Every handmade creation carries a story: the knowledge of artisans, traditions passed through generations, and the cultural heritage of Hungary.

Our mission is to preserve these values and share them with future generations and visitors from around the world.
